Senator Remi Tinubu Awards Scholarships to Mothers and Children Slain by Bandits at FUDMA

The wife of Nigeria’s senator, Oluremi Tinubu, has awarded scholarships to the mothers and children of victims slain at the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), by bandits in recent months.

The scholarships were given to the victims’ families as part of a peace-building initiative between security agencies and the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).

Following the brutal attack on the students of FUDMA, which saw an increase in banditry, Senator Oluremi emphasized education as a crucial tool to address the security challenge in Nigeria.

Senator Remi Tinubu expressed gratitude to the security agencies for their efforts in rescuing the kidnapped women and for urging the students not to let the tragic incident hinder their pursuit of education.

In addition to the scholarships, the senator’s office also announced a one million Naira scholarship fund for each girl within the affected group, in partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

Furthermore, she disclosed that the federal government provided an additional two million Naira as scholarships for each of the mothers among the affected women who were rescued.

Participants involved in the scholarship award ceremony included the mothers of the victims, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, the Representative of the Nigerian Police Force, and a representative from the NSA.
