Recently, the IPMAN (Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria) announced the distribution of my fuel tanker to some of the stations under their purview. As a fuel transporter, this marks a significant milestone in my journey as a business owner.

Previously, I had faced several challenges in trying to secure a buyer for my tanker, but with the assistance of IPMAN, my fuel tanker has finally found a new home.

The road to this achievement wasn’t an easy one. Over the years, I have been faced with numerous obstacles as a fuel transporter in Nigeria. From the constant challenges posed by road accidents and bad roads to the daunting task of navigating the ever-changing petroleum industry, the journey has been anything but smooth. But, with perseverance, hard work, and dedication, I have been able to overcome these obstacles and forge ahead in my business.

One of the most notable incidents that almost derailed my business was the fuel scarcity crisis that occurred in Nigeria in 2018. During this time, fuel supply was erratic, and finding petrol was like finding a needle in a haystack. I remember having to sleep overnight at the petrol station just so I could get fuel for my tanker. The scarcity lasted for months, and it was a difficult time for all fuel transporters in the country. But, we were resilient, and we found a way to cope with the crisis.

One of the key lessons I have learned in my years as a fuel transporter is the importance of building strong partnerships and collaborations. Working with organizations like IPMAN has been extremely beneficial to my business. They have provided me with support, guidance, and networking opportunities, all of which have helped me to grow my business. The relationship I have built with IPMAN has been a mutually beneficial one, and I am grateful for their help in securing a buyer for my fuel tanker.

In conclusion, as a fuel transporter in Nigeria, the journey is not an easy one, but with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, it is possible to achieve success. Building strong partnerships and collaborations is also important, as it can be the difference between success and failure. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my story, and I hope it inspires others to keep pushing forward in their business endeavors.
