Corruption could lead to jail, EFCC warns students at Port Harcourt Integrity Club launch

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Port Harcourt Regional Command (EFCC) has established the EFCC Integrity Club at Merecer International College, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Speaking at the event, acting executive chairman Abdulkarim Chukkol asked students to stay away from corruption. ā€œIt can land you in jail; as a member of the EFCC Integrity Club, learn to tell the truth and be a good ambassador,ā€ he said.

Chukkol, through Akpos Deborah Mezeh-Ekisowei, head of EFCC and head of public affairs at Port Harcourt Regional Command, said the purpose of the Integrity Club was to promote right attitudes among its members in the school environment and at home.

Temple Odoko, through one of the teachers, Ms Sinclair Yienmienebi, Director General of the school, thanked EFCC for choosing Merecer International College for the inauguration of the Integrity Club.

“I would like to say thank you for introducing the Integrity Club to Merecer International College, at least not all schools will have this opportunity. We are very grateful to you and we will continue to fight corruption with EFCC members,” he said.

EFCC Integrity Club student and president Ms Favor Leslie said she was delighted to be elected club president and said that as president she would ensure good morals among club members and the school as a whole.

Fifty-nine students were sworn in at the event.
