During his sermon on Friday, the young Islamic teacher in Kano state, Malam Murtadha, called on the governor of Kano, Eng Abba Kabir Yusuf, to hand over the chairmanship of the film censorship board to a person who deserves it, that is, a wise person who adheres to the religion, not a film actor who He did not contribute to his politics, because they heard rumors that between two people, an actor or a producer, one of them will be given the leadership of the board for the contribution they gave to the establishment of the government.
He said, “The worst harm that Governor Abba Gida-Gida will do to Kano is to entrust the film censorship board to one of the two, the film censorship board is like the Hisba board, which is considered a brave person with religious zeal and discipline in Trust him, now just because a filmmaker donates to the Governor, he should be given the presidency of Hisba or the Film Censor Board?
“The film censorship board is an agency that has great influence and importance for religion and the morals of the community, it is an agency that is empowered by the law to prevent anything that violates religion and culture, it is the agency that has the right to prevent the release of a film or song that contains obscenity or anything that violates morals that conflicts with religion and culture, especially gala dances, films, songs, magazines, and any recording that will be broadcast as long as he violates the religion, the agency will arrest the perpetrator and take him to court to arrest him and pay a fine.
“In the event that those who are not in front of religion and morals are arrested, that is, movie actors, who are actually destroying their morals, how can the one who destroys morals be jealous of morals and prevent corruption? The actor and the producer who are Some of them have more than a hundred morally corrupt movies, and they are not good enough to correct the damage done by their fellow citizens. There is a film made of bad language and language that is not good in Kano, the whole of northern Nigeria will be affected, including Niger and other countries that speak the Hausa language, this is a big challenge for the governor, and God bless the governor for this reason.”
Shaikh Annaesy cited the example of the former chairman of the Film Censor Board, Ismail Afakallahu, in the film industry he was a religious man who tried to bring reform, but after handing over the board to him, everything went wrong. and going to court or one that was taken against them, during that time a film was made to teach sex, it was during that time that the nude videos of the film actors went out but no legal action was taken. The teacher explained that he has discharged his responsibility, God is a witness for the believers to be a witness, and everyone who is religious and disciplined should spread this message, and he requested that everyone who has the power to convey this message to the Kano government It is enough for the future of education and religion in Kano.
