Naira Marley’s record label releases statement saying it’s sad MohBad didn’t get a proper burial
Singer Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has released a statement on behalf of his record label Marlian Music regarding the death of his former signee MohBad.
Naira Marley shared the statement on his Instagram account on Friday night, saying the brand was saddened that Mohbad didn’t get a proper burial.
The statement read in part: “Mobad was an incredible street pop star who contributed to the foundation of Mars music. Despite his departure last year, we continue to support his talent.
“No family is perfect and there will be disagreements between families, but Mobard didn’t wish any harm on him. There was a lot left unsaid but the love was always there. This tragedy is not only our loss but the loss of the whole world.” A loss for everyone whose music has touched them.
“As we pay our respects to the late Mohrbad, we also call for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his death.
“We are dissatisfied and disturbed by what we have witnessed since Tuesday, September 12. We owe Mobadd his thanks for helping to shine a light on any foul play or injustice.
“Our brother deserved a better send-off and we are saddened that we are unable to assist in providing a fitting burial. We will continue to work hard to reach the family.”
MohBad fell out with the label in 2022. He died on Tuesday and was buried the next day in Ikorodu, Lagos.
