Welcome to a new Legislative Day in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, CON, Ph.D, led the Principal Officers into the Chambers, took the official prayers and began the day’s proceedings at 11:00am.
VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS
Senator Nora Daduut moved for the adoption of Votes and Proceedings for Wednesday, 24th March, 2021.
The motion was seconded by Senator Uche Ekwunife.
Senate Leader rose to announce the demise of two members of the National Assembly:
- Hon. Haruna Maitala, who represented Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency;
- Hon. Suleiman Aliyu, who represented Lere Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
“I rise in accordance of the tradition of this Senate to move two motions; one, for the suspension of all Orders scheduled for consideration on the Order Paper, and for this distinguished Chamber to observe one minute silence in honour of the departed.” – Senate Leader
Minority Leader seconded.
Senate observed a minute silence in honor of the deceased Honorouble members.

Senate Leader moved that plenary be adjourned to another legislative day.
